Xbox One S – Sleeker, Slimmer, Sharper Gaming Unleashed!

Xbox One S

The New Xbox One S  features a few tweaks under its stylish hood. Announced at E3 press conference in Los Angeles the new Xbox One S takes the original Xbox One, shrinks it down, and gives it a fresh coat of white paint. It is 40 percent smaller than the original Xbox One, and the new console also gives you some choice on how to display it, because of an optional vertical stand.

It isn’t a “next-gen” successor to the Xbox One. Instead, it’s a smaller version that corrects many of the mistakes of the big adding some notable new features, too.

Design of Xbox One S

The company showed off the latest design of Xbox One S which will be bright white color embedded with a vertical stand, so users can decide how they want to orient it on their shelf.

The device will have a hard drive sporting up to 2TB and an integrated power supply that comes with a slightly upgraded version of the Xbox One controller. Also, you will get to see a textured grip on the back and the addition of Bluetooth, which adds more wireless range.

Unbeaten Features

  • Xbox One S features 4K resolution and HDR video support, for a more vibrantly colored gaming experience. One can expect colors to be more vibrant and will bring out the true visual depth of your games.
  • It is also introducing a new, streamlined Bluetooth wireless controller with increased range.
  • It weighs only 3.2kg (7.05 pounds).
  • It comprises of 8GB Random Access Memory and boasts of 720p and 1080p resolution.
  • The console’s USB ports have been moved to the front for easy access, and there’s a new built-in IR blaster.
  • Xbox One S also has an internal power brick the size of a Buick and will consist of 2TB storage for all games.
  • The internal storage of Xbox One S comprises of 500GB or 1TB memory.
  • The Xbox One S will also play those new, top-of-the-line 4K Blu-ray discs.
  • The new console includes a Kinect feature built-in: An IR blaster that can control your TV and cable box like a universal remote.
  • It has a redesigned interface, support for Cortana digital assistant, that is compatible with the Windows Store.
  • It includes the enhanced Xbox Wireless Controller, featuring a sleeker, more streamlined design.
  • It can play favorite games on Windows 10 PCs, tablets, and phones.

Price and Availability

Running at $349 and $299, respectively Xbox One S will come in a number of different configurations. A limited edition of the Xbox One S will be available in early August with a 2TB hard drive for $399.

A 1TB model will also be available for $349 in the US. A supercharged version of the Xbox One, dubbed Project Scorpio, will be hitting in late 2017 with support for gaming at 4K resolutions and VR add-ons.

The Verdict

While the specifications mentioned for Project Scorpio are promising, we will get to take a closer look as more information becomes available over next year.

So Xbox One S looks great, with its integrated extensions and one will look forward to knowing that how this device will compete with the other new and improved game consoles that will soon be following, hot on its heels. Gaming surely will reach a new high with the new entrants!
