Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga – A 2-in-1 Laptop with Ultrathin Design

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga

Lenovo can be credited to have popularized convertible laptops for business users and in last two years, it unveiled several products in this category, each one with richer specs, display, and power. Following this legacy in this hybrid niche, this time, the company offered something ultimate, much ahead of most of its competitors. It is none other than Thinkpad X1 Yoga, the slimmest business convertible with the super OLED display. This convertible variation from Lenovo truly culminated into the best ever experience from its Yoga series till date.

Ultrathin Design

Looking for a 2-in-1 slim and professional laptop that just looks way ahead of all its contemporaries? Well, this ultrathin convertible laptop just can fit the bill. The design perfection is further given a boost by the island-style keyboard, a fingerprint reader, a 1920 x 1080 touch-screen display, a trackpad and nub and the thick, black bezel surrounding. The card reader is on the backside of the device. The most important thing is that in spite of the lightweight built the device looks solid and durable. The dimension of the device is precisely 13.11 x 9.01 x 0.66 inches and it weighs just 2.8 pounds.

OLED Display

The 14-inch touch-enabled OLED display of the X1 Yoga is a huge selling point. The Core i5 model comes with a 1080p display, while the Core i7 comes with a sharper 2560 x 1440 QHD panel.

The OLED version with 2560 x 1440 display offers a vividness and clarity that no other laptop including the very high-end ones cannot match. Offering 201.9% of the color it offers a color accuracy scoring 2.24 which is unmatched by any laptop till date. The visuals on this screen stand out in any light condition whether in direct sunlight or in darkness. The astoundingly higher contrast ratio of its OLED panel literally creates unmatched text and graphic output.

Sumptuous Range of Features

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga comes with really stunning features allowing robust flexibility, ease of use and functional power.

  • Different Modes: The 360-degree flexible hinge of X1 Yoga easily allows using it like a laptop, tablet, in a shape of upside-down V or just as a horizontally laid down display. It is designed to get on with different modes quite easily. For instance, after folding the keyboard the keys get automatically locked and do not react when using the device as a tablet.
  • Keyboard, Touchpad, and TrackPoint: The keyboard with 1.67 millimeters of travel offers a truly comfortable typing experience. There is 3.9 x 2.2-inch Synaptics touchpad allowing a diverse range of gestures such as two-finger scroll, three-finger swipe, etc. The TrackPoint nub of Lenovo is in the center of the keyboard allowing easy and accurate navigation all over the desktop.
  • Stylus: In the right-hand side there is a rechargeable stylus pen that can be used for writing, drawing and giving input in tablet mode.
  • Writeit App: Coupled up with the Stylus the new Writeit app allows lot of creative features like handwriting recognition.
  • Durability and Security: The fingerprint reader on the right side does not need you swipe the finger over it but just a small touch and it instantly recognizes your identity.
  • Audio: The small speakers of the X1 Yoga can offer a robust audio output for a home ambiance.  With Dolby audio app and by using dynamic preset you can further boost the sound as per the playlist.
  • Battery Life: With continuous browsing and video playing the battery of the 1920 x 1080 version lasted for more than 8 hours while the battery of the 2560 x 1440 model lasted for a little less in the same condition. This makes it ideal for going without charging in the professional hours.
