With the growing demand of apps on the App Store, there are more and more budding app developers who are building some really good apps out there. But building an app can prove to be an extremely complex process. Each step must be carefully studied and then worked up. Also, you have to find an individual or a team that has the right kind of expertise and skills that you require for your app.

That’s why even before you look around for a team of developers, there are some things you must know about the iOS app development. You must do check on the kind of iOS app developers available and match them with your requirements.

Step-by-Step Guide to Developing an iOS App:

1. The First Step is To Discover -

Before you start the development work, the most important step is to discover. Gather all the necessary information, lay down your plan, goals, and objective for the project. This will give you a clear idea of what you want to do and what your obstacles will be so you can plan about how to get rid of those obstacles. This is the step where you also get to see what others are offering in the market and what you must to do match their level.

2. Concept -

Now that you have your values and objectives in front of you, it’s time to lay the groundwork. At this step, your idea gets refined, discuss the app’s functionality, and create a technical document. There are two documents: specific and technical. Specific documents will help you identify your exact requirements and other things like server-side integration. The technical things will be to decide which framework to use, having an Apple developer account etc.

3. Wire-frame -

After creating the tech-specific documents, it’s time for you to start creating wireframes. Wireframes are also used as user experience roadmap. The architecture blueprint will tell you what content will go where. A good user experience and user interface depend a lot on the kind of wireframing you have done. This is where you decide how the app comes to life.

4. Design -

Based on the wireframe, you will now be working on creating an interesting visual design, a UX that is engaging and a UI that is intuitive. At this step, a designer will be producing a look and feel of each screen and decide what graphics will be used along with custom animations and icons that are to be added. The design prototypes will be produced to check how the app will look like.

5. Software Architecture -

For an app to be successful, it has to be scalable. It must be written in a way that it supports all kinds of growth and updates right from the inception. This is an extremely crucial stage of the development process. If this goes wrong, you might have to completely rewrite the whole thing. Design and software architecture are worked upon side by side so that the development phase can be started right after this.

6. Coding & Integration -

This is a complex step. A constant feedback has to be there between the developer and the designer. The front end and back end architecture is built here at this stage in coordination with each other. The functionality of the app and the architecture of the system are built together. This is done because both front end and back end depend on each other for support and proper functioning of the app.

7. Testing -

After the development, it’s time to test what you have built. The developer goes through the app using a device and makes sure there are no bugs and all the functions are performed smoothly. The same app will have to be tested against several devices to check the responsiveness and functionality on each device.

8. Submit the App -

Once the app is tested and made sure that it is perfectly functional without any bugs, you will be submitting the app to the app store for reviewing. Going live on the app store also includes a few other steps like having a profile, getting into the listing and submission for certification etc.

It’s Not Over Yet:

Building an app is an ongoing process and it never really stops even when the app is submitted to the app store and people have started using it. An app is something that needs constant work and support. If you need assistance with building your app, contact Nimblechapps- iOS mobile app development company. We’d love to hear from you!
