Upwork is a very popular platform for getting remote jobs. If you are planning to work as a freelancer or as an agency on UpWork, you have to be aware of a few things about Upwork. Few of the things are mentioned below.

1) Due to inactivity, Your account may be deactivated.

It's possible that you signed up for Upwork in the past and forgot about it. There's a chance that your account is no longer accessible. If you don't have any income, are not looking for employment, or have an incomplete profile, you should take steps to correct these issues if you want your profile to remain active. If it gets deactivated, you might be able to restore it by getting in touch with customer service.

2) Depending on your Upwork activity, your Job Score may change.

The job score is a measure of both your success on Upwork and how well your client like your work. A higher score is much better for increasing the winning chances. Based on the ratings and reviews received by you from your clients, your Job Success Score may vary.

3) Depending on your different specializations, you can have various profiles.

This feature is quite new. You would need to build a unique profile for each of the specializations. Suppose you are a full-stack developer. You could, in turn, have three profiles– Your regular full stack profile, Frontend Development profile, and Backend Development profile. And the good part is that you can charge separate hourly rates for each of these profiles.

4) Eventually, you can start your agency.

On Upwork, you can have your own team, but each team member must have an Upwork account. And agency owners can invite other members to join their agency. Agency owners can invite them as exclusive or Non-exclusive members of their team.

5) Ensure that the client's payment information has been validated on their profile.

Wait until the payment method has been verified by the platform before beginning the work on a project if the client is new to Upwork. Make sure the customer provides you with the offer after that and funds at least the first milestone. This indicates that the funds are in escrow, allowing you to seek payment as soon as you complete the project's initial milestone.
